HBA offers lead certification class for EPA Renovation, Repair & Painting Rule

FARGO, N.D. – The Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead is offering a lead certification class required by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule. Building and remodeling firms must have one or more certified renovators assigned to each job where paint in disturbed in homes built in 1978 or earlier. Eight hours of training is required to become a “certified renovator.”

The class will be 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Nov. 14 at Cass County Electric Cooperative, 4100 32nd Ave. S. in Fargo. HBA of F-M member cost is $170; non-member cost is $255. It will be instructed by the UND Environmental Training Institute, which is EPA-certified to present RRP courses. This course also fulfills eight hours of building contractor continuing education by the Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry (it does not include energy credit).
